Good Old-Fashioned Pancakes by Allrecipes

★★★★☆

I wanted to make pancakes for myself so I found this recipe online. I halved it because I didn't want that many leftovers. My sister was being nice and helped me (so nice, am I right?). I came across some issues (what did I even expect lol). The milk was 5/8 cup?? I didn't have a 5/8 measuring cup bc I've never even seen that before. I kind of just eyeballed it and hoped it was enough. Same thing with the eggs. It called for 1/2 egg so I just did one egg anywasy because I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW ONE WOULD DO THAT. Honestly that's kind of my fault so I'm not blaming the recipe. Also this recipe unfortunately doesn't has metric measurements.

I poured the batter into the pan at medium-heat and it cooked WAYY faster than I expected. If I did this recipe again I would either watch it like a hawk or put it on lower heat. I struggled so hard most of my pancakes were overcooked and dark brown so my sister cook over. Her pancakes were also overcooked but she did it better than me.

NOW for the legit stuff you actually probably care about. They tasted good. They didn't taste very sweet, which was their intention, but if you want it sweet, add more sugar.

So basically if you want to half the recipe like I did, here are my tips that you should take with a grain of salt:
  1. For the milk just use 1/2 cup and then a little bit more
  2. Actually put the well in the center of the batter (which I forgot to do lol)
  3. Just do one egg
  4. Watch the pancakes on the pan like A HAWK. Or just put it on lower heat.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies by Sally's Baking Addiction

★★★★★

Chocolate chips are like the most iconic dessert in the US at least. Like legit everyone has tasted at least ONE choco chip cookie recipe in their life. So that means if you want to make a chocolate chip cookie recipe, you have a lot of pressure to make it taste good. Sally slayed in this category. The cookies tasted SO GOOD my dad is obsessed with them and I'm terrified. The recipe was normal but omg it was so thick. I'd recommend using a Danish dough whisk or whatever that's called. DO NOT use a spatula like Sally said it's not gonnna work.

Anyways, I chilled the dough for like 3?? hours and we watched Wicked in the background (that wasn't an important detail I just wanted to say that because I'm gonna see Wicked: For Good in theaters on Thanksgiving). The dough WAS HARD. Like concrete hard. Like I had to use all of my strength that I don't know where it came from because I don't do any sports to scoop out little cookie spheres. It was hard, and it took like half of the movie to do. I had to do like three batches, which was unexpected but that's ok because they tasted really really really really really really really really really really really good. 10/10. Would bake again. Don't bake if you like good desserts.
